Jack Riedel
Chairman of the Board and CEO

Mr. Riedel's 25-year career in Silicon Valley is highlighted by five senior executive roles at early-stage, venture-backed, B2B enterprise software ventures. In CEO and VP level roles, he has consistently delivered against equity growth benchmarks for investors, and has guided these firms from inception to multi-millions in revenues-with quarterly equity growth rates of 100 to 400%. Mr. Riedel is highly customer focused. His successful execution of milestones is distinguished by the development of teams that find and serve the largest of flagship customers: Compaq, 3COM, Merrill Lynch, HP, SAIC, Palm, EDS, IBM, Sun Microsystems, Data General, TRW, Blue Cross, British Petroleum, Pacific Bell, and many others. Mr. Riedel serves as an advisor to numerous venture capital firms and analyst groups in the U.S. and abroad. He started his career at Wang Laboratories as a top sales representative, after completing his Marketing degree with Mechanical Engineering minor from Michigan State University.

David Maust
Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Maust comes to Tall Umbrella from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where his expert skills of project management, innovation, software and telecommunications systems were honed to world-class levels. At JPL, he conducted or served as a primary contributor in many projects including the WebTFP, which was an effort to make a web interface for a JPL tool known as the "Telecommunications Forecaster Predictor." Mr. Maust generalized the work in WebTFP to allow other Matlab applications to be accessible on the web within the same framework. Included in these are the Telecommunications Orbital Analysis Simulation Tool (TOAST), and Mars Relay Network Planning Tool (MRNPT); he also integrated this tool for orbital trajectory integration. Also at JPL he worked on several projects within Project Constellation. With the Space Communications and Networking (SCaN) group and the Distributed Space Exploration Simulation (DSES) project, Mr. Maust worked to get JPL onto the distributed simulation network and get JPL's Qualnet link analysis tool accessible from the other centers through HLA. Mr. Maust also assisted the Protocol Test Lab (PTL) and Distributed Simulation Integration Lab (DSIL) in observing and recording activity on the distributed simulation network. He has also been a speaker at numerous UNIX and Linux user group events. At the UNIX Users Association of Southern California (UUASC), he was invited to talk on a mail transfer agent, Postfix, Subversion, (a version control system) and then later on SpamAssassin. Mr. Maust is an expert or fully proficient in numerous programming languages including, C, C++, UNIX, Linux systems, Java, PERL, LISP, Python, Fortran, PHP, C#, and VB.NET, and has served as President of the local chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He is a top graduate of Cal State Fullerton in Computer Science and Mathematics.

Dennis C. Richardson
Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Richardson is an internationally-known mathematician who worked on numerous projects with Edward Teller, the Nobel laureate. Mr. Richardson wrote the mathematics for the launch trajectory analysis of the first lunar missions. He has more than 43 years of technical and executive management experience in Aerospace, business development and commercial nuclear. As the Director of Westinghouse Enterprises, Mr. Richardson was responsible for development and implementation of Westinghouse's diversification plan encompassing initiatives in computer workstations, robotics, vision systems and microelectronics. He performed market research, developed business plans, and executed these plans for over fifteen market entries, including technology commercialization for international joint ventures. Mr. Richardson was the founding president of Infinia Corporation, www.infiniacorp.com, which was originally known as Stirling Technology Company. Under his direction, the company created and delivered the first cryogenic engine technology, successfully launched it into commercial and government markets and formed partnerships with IBM and others. During its first year, the firm captured over $10M in revenue. Infinia has attracted numerous global investment leaders, including, by Paul Allen's firm, Vulcan Capital. Mr. Richardson's management experience includes one role with $110M in revenue with 200 employees and another at $65M in revenue and 500 employees. His extensive experience also includes working as lead developer for General Dynamics/NASA Space Program. His team developed the trajectory analysis software and control system, including the first digital platform for the launch vehicle missions for NASA. Mr. Richardson holds four degrees; he earned his Master of Business Administration from University of Pittsburgh in addition to his Master of Science in Mathematics from Cal State San Diego and his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University.

Bruce Carter
Chief Information Officer

Mr. Carter has over 25 years of experience in the design, development, and implementation of corporate-wide, computer-based, voice, video and data systems. As a senior information technology executive, his extensive experience spans Fortune 100 world-class enterprises, and entrepreneurial ventures alike. An industry leader, Mr. Carter has consistently achieved and exceeded the financial and technical goals of large scale IT infrastructure initiatives, from design inception to final completion. Quick thinking and tenacious, he possesses an exceptional ability for identifying and assimilating new technologies-bringing each to bear for the maximum, practical efficacy of his customers and constituents. Mr. Carter is also a thought leader in e-business, client server enterprise systems, and standard business automation applications in Novell, Unix/Linux and Microsoft Windows environments with a proven, team-building reputation with IBM, MCI, Toshiba and many others. He is a graduate from Illinois Wesleyan University with a B.S. in Business Administration and has taken Graduate studies at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Mr. Carter has his C.N.E., M.C.P., M.C.S.E., Unix and ITIL V3 Certifications. He has received numerous industry awards including Circle of Excellence and Next Generation, and most notably the Smithsonian Award for Technology Excellence in Education.

Christopher N. Persson, SPHR
Chief Human Resources Officer

Mr. Persson owns and operates a highly successful human resources publishing and consulting firm called Connecticut HR Reports, whose publications have been successfully licensed in all 50 states across the USA for more than twenty years. As a successful entrepreneur, Mr. Persson has served as an advisor to hundreds of organizations, and is lifetime certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society for Human Resource Management. He has a long history in assisting nonprofits and healthcare organizations, and a deep understanding of healthcare processes in the USA. Mr. Persson holds a B.S. from Bentley University and an M.S. in Industrial Relations from the University of New Haven. He is also a graduate fellow of the University of New Haven, and a member of Sigma Beta Delta, the international honor society for graduate-level business students.

Tim Templeton
Vice President of Marketing

Mr. Templeton is a leading marketing executive, with inveterate experience developing successful telecommunications and software marketing campaigns for international companies such as MCI, ADC and SafeNet. He has brought a wide variety of high tech products to market including Wi-Fi Access Points, DSL Multiplexors, license management software, Optical Ethernet devices, element management systems and license free microwave radios. Mr. Templeton's strong channel management background includes launching a reseller program and recruiting 1,200 new members in the first six months. His accolades include a product receiving the coveted Editor's Choice Award from PC Magazine, and his work was also profiled as part of a recent Marketing Sherpa case study. Mr. Templeton holds an MBA in Information Systems Management from Fordham University, and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics from Cornell University.

Jerry Joseph
Vice President of Technical Services

Mr. Joseph has over 19 years of in-depth Engineering experience, having held a wide variety of roles including software design, project management and sales engineering. A seasoned Engineering manager, as well as a skilled technical writer, accomplished presenter and experienced trainer, he combines his talent for identifying and solving technical challenges with a strong customer-centric focus. In his role as VP of Technical Services, Mr. Joseph has responsibility for delivering robust, secure cloud computing solutions to Tall Umbrella's clients. Prior to joining Tall Umbrella, Mr. Joseph held roles with leading technology companies such as Borland, SafeNet, Mediasurface and Printronix. In highly competitive sales engagements, his sales engineering efforts made major contributions to cross-functional sales teams. On numerous occasions, Mr. Joseph was credited as the pivotal manager responsible for winning complex multi-million dollar technology contracts with clients including AIG, Kaiser Permanente, the US Mint and dozens of others. Mr. Joseph holds a Bachelor's of Science and a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach.

David Wu
Advisory Board Member

Mr. Wu was President and a founding member of Mirror Image Internet Inc., a network and content distribution company where he was instrumental in developing and executing a business strategy that attracted over $700 million in venture investments. Mr. Wu attained liquidity for Mirror Image's investors with a peak valuation of $4.5 billion. Prior to Mirror Image, he was Director and subsequently VP of Marketing for VideoGuide, Inc., and was a Product Marketing Manager for Intel (NYSE:INTC). Mr. Wu earned an MBA from Harvard in 1992, an M.S.E.E and M.S. Computer Science from M.I.T in 1988, and a B.S.E.E. from M.I.T in 1985.

Dinesh Wadhawan

Dinesh Wadhawan served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Times Internet Ltd. Mr. Wadhawan has over 28 years of varied experience, including his previous assignment at Microsoft USA - Servers & Tools division. He is known for his strong business, technical and marketing background, joint venture and alliance proficiencies and significant global expansion experience. Earlier, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Paramark Inc., since September 2001. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Zembu. Mr. Wadhawan served as Senior Vice-President, Worldwide Sales and Services at Vicinity Corporation since September 2000. He was a key member of the executive team to take the Vicinity public on NASDAQ. He has worked for companies like Systems Union, an enterprise software company in the US and Europe, and UK-based Systime Ltd., one of the largest OEMs of Digital Equipment Corporation. He has held management positions at Hindustan Computers Ltd. From October 1995 to March 1999, Mr. Wadhawan served as the Director of Operations, Western North America of Systems Union, Inc. From January 1994 to September 1995, Mr. Wadhawan served as the Global Manager, Oil and Gas, of Systems Union Limited, the United Kingdom component of Systems Union. He serves as a Director of Rocketalk, Inc., and has served as a Director of Times Internet Ltd. Mr. Wadhawan holds a B.S. and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the University of Delhi, India.

John (Yianni) Serpanos
Advisory Board Member

Mr. Serpanos is a successful entrepreneur and executive leader specializing in cloud computing, broadband technologies, and internetworking with over 15 years of commercial experience covering cloud service commercialization, sales/ marketing, executive management, capital raising, founding/start up, growth and exits. He was a founder and Finance Director of the Intelligent Public Network (IPN) in 1999, an Australian company, which was a leader in the application service provider (ASP) marketplace. IPN grew from a single exchange to 26 exchanges within 12 months, involving collaborations between UE Comm, Compaq (USA/ Australia) in establishing a $20M funding stream to support expansion. Mr. Serpanos later founded and became CEO of Dolphin DSL which became a top 20 national "platinum" channel partner (out of a reseller network in excess of 300) of Powertel Limited. He established a joint venture with M2 Telecom which was strategically integrated with M2 Broadband in an IPO raising $2.5M, with a current market capitalization of over $320M. Mr. Serpanos later founded Amityone Health, the first to provide diagnostic quality medical images and offer clinical opinions (resulting in reduced costs and enhanced Doctor's performance). Notable sales growth was made into the Australian Government health sector and to Intracore Online Solutions, now the market leader in the Online Practice Management Studio (OPMS). Mr. Serpanos has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Tasmania with Majors in Accounting/Finance and Minors in Economics/Management, and a Master of Finance from the RMIT University (Melbourne). During that time he achieved Academic excellence recognized by the PWC Prize for Accounting and being admitted to the Golden Key Honors Society. In addition to professional qualifications in Chartered Accounting, he is a current member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and has served as an executive committee member of the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI).

Eugene A. Blaho, CPA, MBA

Mr. Blaho has held a variety of roles including CFO, controller, and finance director roles in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries with companies that include Valeant Pharmaceuticals, Immuno-Designed Molecules, Beckman Coulter, and Edwards Life Sciences. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration with emphases in finance and accounting from California State University, Fullerton, and an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.

Gary Powell

Currently Mr. Powell is the CEO of two companies doing oil and gas extraction around the world: Cavion Systems, Inc., a technology development company and a production company called Sweetwater Oil & Gas, Inc. He is a graduate of Northeastern University in chemical engineering, and worked at Polaroid early in his career.

Dr. David S. Richardson is a professional investor and successful entrepreneur. His investments in technology and real estate have spanned fifteen years. A technology guru, Dr. Richardson once implemented a suite of systems for his practice that increased efficiency by more than 300%. In addition to earning an excellent reputation as an investor, Dr. Richardson's reputation with his patients is exceptional. Without any advertising, Dr. Richardson still has too many patients to see, and a very long waiting list of appreciative patients.

Dr. E. Paul Riedel

Dr. Riedel (now retired) spent 32 years in research and development of laser, optical and microwave technologies for both military and commercial applications. At both Lockheed and Westinghouse, Dr. Riedel and the teams he led contributed to the intellectual groundwork of a number of successful applications of these technologies. He has provided his professional input and scientific assessment in Washington D.C. on numerous matters of national security. Dr. Riedel earned a Ph.D. in physics from Michigan State University, a Master's degree in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin, and an Engineering Physics Degree from Cornell University.
